Biography
Agyei Tyehimba is an educator, writer, activist, community leader and social media personality from Harlem, New York. He is the Founder and Director of Harlem Liberation School, a political education center that provides uses community field trips, film reviews, and workshops to provide Africana Studies, leadership training and antiracism activism.
Agyei’s first book was Game Over: The Rise and Transformation of a Harlem Hustler (Atria Books, 2007). This book was named a bestseller by Essence Magazine and the African-American Literature Book Club. Agyei has self-published three books addressing leadership and character development. The Blueprint (2013) is an activist handbook for Black Student Union members on college campuses. Truth for Our Youth (2014) is a teen-empowerment book that provides motivational lessons in self-esteem, accountability, decision-making, and life management. His latest book, Leadership: Philosophy, Ethics & Practice (2022), reflects his life mission to teach sound leadership and organizing principles as a foundation for personal and collective transformation.
